Maintenance of the wooden hot tub
The wooden hot tub, just like the wooden fence or terrace, requires more maintaince than the same product made from the advanced materials. On the other hand, the wooden hot tubs are popular because they are natural and it’s a part of a tradition.
• The new wooden hot tub should be left to swell, so it won’t leak. You just need to fill the hot tub with water and leave it for up to 5 days.
• Impregnation prevents from the humidity impact, so it should be done at least once a year. By the way, most likely, that you have chosen the wooden hot tub because it’s a natural product, so you should only impregnate the external walls of the tub not the inside.
• You should be careful not to parch the wood. During summer, we advise you to keep the tub filled with water. If, however, you need to drain the water, don’t leave the tub empty for long. During winter, you should leave the tub empty because the frozen water may damage it. There is enough humidity during winter, so there is no need to do anything else when the spring comes.
• It is better to cover the hot tub, if it’s not currently in use. It’s safer for children, animals and prevents from random objects falling into it.
• It is useful to keep the hot tub filled with water all the time. Of course, it’s not economical to change water frequently, so we suggest cleaning water. There are various chemical and disinfection products that prevent from bacterium and algae. You can use the same products as for outside pools.
• Before going to the hot tub, it is recommended to get a shower.
